Before his return to Düsseldorf, Werder-Sturmer Kownacki made preparations.

Dawd Kownacki's association with Werder Bremen failed to yield profit. It seems he might be reverting to his previous team now.

- Before his return to Düsseldorf, Werder-Sturmer Kownacki made preparations.

Polish striker Dawid Kownacki, currently with Werder Bremen, seems close to rejoining his previous team, Fortuna Düsseldorf. As per Bremen's reports, Kownacki, age 27, will miss the DFB-Pokal encounter against Energie Cottbus (6:00 PM/Sky) on Monday due to negotiations with another club.

According to Bild.de, the club in negotiations is indeed Düsseldorf, a team playing in the second division. The discussion revolves around a loan agreement with a buyout option for Fortuna.

Kownacki had moved to Bremen from Düsseldorf just last summer, but he failed to leave an impression. Despite this, Düsseldorf, with aspirations of promotion in the 2. Bundesliga, continues to seek reinforcements for their attacking lineup.

Kownacki's potential return to Düsseldorf could see him missing more matches, as negotiations with his former club might extend beyond the DFB-Pokal game against Energie Cottbus in Bremen. If the deal with Fortuna Düsseldorf is finalized, Kownacki might once again be donning the colors of his previous team from Bremen.
