Before BVB game: Hoeneß remembers wild home debut
VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß has "very positive memories" of his last clash with Borussia Dortmund. The sometimes wild 3:3 against BVB last April was the 41-year-old's first home game as Stuttgart head coach. Despite being sent off early on, Dortmund first let a 2-0 lead slip and then a 3-2 lead in stoppage time against VfB. Hoeneß barely managed to keep the relegation-threatened Swabians in the Bundesliga as the season progressed.
It was a "special game" and a "tremendous game" at the time, said Hoeneß ahead of the reunion with Borussia this Saturday (3.30pm/Sky). His team had picked up an important point and also "cemented their belief" that they could still avoid relegation.
Stuttgart's coach is also expecting an entertaining match this time. Both are "teams that rely a lot on offense and possession," he explained. There is therefore "a high probability that we will see goals". VfB are currently third in the table, while BVB are level on points with the Swabians in fourth place.
In that thrilling 3:3 draw against Borussia Dortmund last season, VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß recalls his first home game as the team's leader in the Bundesliga, demonstrating how Soccer team VfB Stuttgart managed to secure a crucial point and boost their confidence despite conceding a 2-0 lead and a 3-2 lead in the final minutes, with Borussia Dortmund having an early sending-off. This upcoming Saturday's match between the two teams in the Bundesliga promises to be another entertaining 'Bundesliga' clash, given that both sides are known for their offensive style and high possession game, leading to a 'high probability' of scoring several 'goals'.
