Beatles with a new hit: success also noticeable in Halle

The Beatles are currently storming the charts again with a song completed by artificial intelligence. Since then, the Beatles Museum in Halle has hardly been able to save itself from inquiries. Was "Now and Then" the very last hit by the band from Liverpool in the UK?

Beatles with a new hit: success also noticeable in Halle

Following the release of a new Beatles song ("Come Together", "Let it Be") generated by artificial intelligence, the enthusiasm has not stopped at the Beatles Museum in Halle. "Since the release of the song "Now and Then", the phone hasn't stopped ringing," museum owner Martin Schmidt told the German Press Agency. "Even young people who have little connection with the Beatles today are once again interested in their music and the history of the Liverpool band thanks to the song. This will also have an impact on visitor numbers in the near future."

To create the band's new song, the vocals of the band's singer, John Lennon, who died in 1980, were isolated with the help of artificial intelligence. Lennon had already composed and sung the song in the 1970s. Now it has been completed with technical assistance. Decades after its release, the band is now storming the charts again.

"There is actually a Christmas production every year - a new compilation of Beatles tracks," said Schmidt. However, he could not remember when the attention was as great as this time. "We sold three times as many copies."

There were different versions of the vinyl pressing. In addition to black, they were also available in blue and transparent. However, they are already completely sold out and will not be produced again, says Schmidt. "This collector's edition in LP size with two tracks is also sold out. It is possible that some will be delivered later." Another version of the Beatles edition was pressed onto a twelve-inch long-playing record.

"You could also say that the Beatles have reinvented themselves," said Schmidt. It is claimed that "Now and Then" is the band's last title. However, there is still one last Beatles song: "Grow Old With Me". "That could be the very last Beatles song."

The Beatles Museum in Halle exhibits around 5000 items from a collection of around 15,000 pieces. According to its own information, it has the largest documentation of the Beatles in the world. The museum was opened in Cologne in 1989 and moved to Halle in 2000 due to lack of space. According to the museum, it attracts around 19,000 visitors a year.

The renewed interest in the Beatles due to their AI-generated song "Now and Then" has led to an increase in calls to the Beatles Museum in Halle, causing museum owner Martin Schmidt to predict an increase in visitor numbers. This revived interest in the band's music and history has also sparked curiosity among young people who may not have been familiar with them before.

As a result of the song's success, limited edition vinyl pressings of the Beatles' new release have sold out, with collectors eagerly awaiting potential late deliveries. Such high demand for the vinyl versions has led some to consider the Beatles' latest offering as their reinvention.
