Bundesliga - Bayern professional Sarr with cruciate ligament rupture in training
FC Bayern Munich's Bouna Sarr has torn a cruciate ligament in training and is therefore likely to be out for the rest of the season. The defender has already undergone surgery following his mishap on Friday, as the German soccer champions announced. The 31-year-old Senegalese player tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Sarr, who signed from Bayern in the fall of 2020, is currently only a supplementary player for coach Thomas Tuchel. He has only made five competitive appearances this season, starting two matches. The international's contract with Munich expires at the end of the season.
