Preceding the commencement of the Bundesliga - Bayern Munich will be without Stanisic for several weeks.
Bayern Munich will be missing right-back Josip Stanisic for a few weeks. The Croatian, who returned to Munich following a year-long loan to champions Bayer Leverkusen, sustained a tear in the lateral collateral ligament of his right knee during training on Monday. The Bundesliga team made this public announcement.
Stanisic had a spot in the starting lineup for Bayern's 4-0 victory against SSV Ulm in the DFB-Pokal. He was a strong contender for the first team selection in Bayern's Bundesliga opener against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday (15:30 CET/DAZN), particularly with Joshua Kimmich expected in the midfield.
Stanisic's absence due to the knee injury means he won't be able to participate in any Test matches with Bayern Munich during his recovery period. Despite his impressive performance in the DFB-Pokal, Stanisic missed out on the chance to secure a spot in Bayern's upcoming Test matches against their Bundesliga opponents.
