The home match against Union Berlin is not the only one to fall victim to the onset of winter. This year, the traditional fan club visits at Christmas time will also not take place.

Weather chaos - Bayern also cancels Christmas visits to fan clubs

FC Bayern Munich has also canceled the traditional Christmas visits to the fan clubs scheduled for this Sunday due to the heavy snowfall. This was announced by the German soccer record champions on Saturday, after the Bundesliga home match against 1. FC Union Berlin scheduled for the afternoon had already been canceled. The fan club visits are to be rescheduled for January 2024 as part of a New Year's reception

"Due to the heavy snowfall and the difficult road conditions also predicted for Sunday, as well as cancellations in public transport, safety cannot be guaranteed here either," the club announced on its website: "In addition, the organization of the event would not have been possible for many fan clubs anyway due to the circumstances." All fan clubs had already been informed of the cancellation.

"Here too, the most important aspect was the safety of our fans and our players," said Bayern's CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, explaining the cancellation: "In light of the snow chaos and the police's call not to leave the buildings, we have decided to postpone the traditional fan club visits planned for this Sunday." Some fan clubs had also contacted the club and asked for a postponement.
