Bayer boss Carro: "I have no doubts about Max Eberl".

Jonathan Tah would like to switch to FC Bayern Munich, but the record champions seem to be playing for time. This irritates Bayer 04 boss Fernando Carro, who is now unusually sharp in his criticism.

- Bayer boss Carro: "I have no doubts about Max Eberl".

In the tug-of-war over a potential departure of Bayer Leverkusen's national player Jonathan Tah to FC Bayern Munich, Bayer 04 boss Fernando Carro has unusually sharp words for the competitor. As reported by "Kicker", Carro said on Tuesday evening at a fan meeting in the BayArena about Bayern Munich's sporting director Max Eberl: "Well, I think nothing of Max Eberl, absolutely nothing. And I wouldn't negotiate with him."

The background is the long-drawn-out transfer of Tah, which has been going on for weeks. The 28-year-old central defender, whose contract with the double winner runs until 2025, is still training in Leverkusen. However, his intention to switch to Bayern is said to have been clear for a long time, and there is broad agreement between the clubs on the modalities and a transfer fee of around 25 million euros plus bonuses.

The only prerequisite: Bayern Munich gives up a player beforehand. Although the departures of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui for a total of around 60 million euros to Manchester United have now been made official, the record champion is still not said to be pushing the Tah acquisition further.

A difficult situation for Bayer. Bayer 04 boss Carro had already said to "Bild" newspaper a few days ago: "We have to keep an eye on the modalities of a transfer and the time. There isn't much of that left, because we also have to be able to react."

I'm not interested in engaging in negotiations with Max Eberl, as I have made it clear that I think nothing of him. I'm not going to make any compromises in this situation.
