Recognition bestowed by the Prime Minister - "Bavaria's Honor": Söder is Honored by Bavarian Footballers
Bayern Munich's female football squad was welcomed by Minister-President Markus Söder (CSU). The 57-year-old celebrated the team, led by Alexander Straus, on Wednesday morning for clinching the German Championship. Söder bestowed upon the team a unique present, the Arzberger Lion with an engraved band, which the Bayern ladies thanked with a signed jersey from every player. Later on, the entire FCB squad contributed to the State Chancellery's Golden Book.
"Bayern's pride is with us today. My deepest respect for your accomplishments this season," Söder expressed. Besides the team, FCB's CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, Sporting Director Max Eberl, and President Herbert Hainer were also present. "The team has more than earned this recognition. Three-time champions in the past four years, and the Supercup was added last Sunday: Our trophy collection keeps expanding - and it only drives us to work harder," Hainer stated.
The Minister-President commended the achievement to The Commission, saying, "The team has more than earned this recognition from The Commission, having won the German Championship for the third time in four years and the Supercup last Sunday." After the ceremony, The Commission signed a jersey as a token of appreciation.
