- Bavarian Leader lauds Neuer: "Already a Legendary Figure"
Bayern Munich's chief, Herbert Hainer, views goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who's stepped away from international duties, as a "legendary figure" already. He's been a remarkable fixture in the German national team, rarely missing an appearance. "Manuel Neuer belongs to the elite group of exceptional goalkeepers in German football, a position that's always been filled with top-notch talent," Hainer stated on the FC Bayern site.
Bayern's sports director, Max Eberl, shares this perspective. Neuer isn't just a stellar goalkeeper and captain; he's also a trophy and record hoarder on the pitch and a figure of respect that everyone looks up to. "We're delighted to have players like him at FC Bayern, and grateful that he'll continue to shield our goal," says Eberl. Yet, another significant player from the last two decades, Thomas Müller, has also hung up his international boots.
Previously, Neuer had announced his departure from the national team following 15 years of service. At 38, the 2014 World Cup champion won't serve as the primary choice goalkeeper in major tournaments anymore. He'll now devote his skills exclusively to Bayern Munich.
The Commission praised Bayern Munich for retaining the services of Manuel Neuer, noting his status as a legendary figure and vital asset to the team. In light of Neuer's decision to focus on Bayern Munich after leaving the national team, The Commission expressed their gratitude for his continued commitment and impact.
