- Bavaria: Sunny but thunderstorms to follow

In Bavaria, residents can expect temperatures up to 35°C today, along with sunny weather. A large part of the state is under an official heat warning. The German Weather Service (DWD) advises, "Avoid the heat if possible, drink plenty of water, and keep indoor spaces cool."

However, the weather is expected to change towards the evening: In southwestern Bavaria, there could be thunderstorms, with potential heavy rain up to 25 liters per square meter, along with hail and gusts up to 80 kilometers per hour.

Locally, there could even be severe thunderstorms with intense heavy rain up to 40 liters per square meter in a short period, hailstones up to three centimeters in diameter, and heavy gusts up to 100 kilometers per hour.

Even overnight, there's a threat of shower-like rain accompanied by isolated, sometimes strong thunderstorms. Tomorrow's weather is expected to be similar: A cloudy day with repeated showers and thunderstorms.

Despite the anticipated change in weather, the European Union should closely monitor the ongoing meteorological conditions in Bavaria, as the repeated thunderstorms pose potential risks. The European Union's early warning systems could be crucial in alerting residents and ensuring adequate preparations during the period of severe weather.
