Baumgart on 18th place: "I think it's quiet at the club"
Coach Steffen Baumgart is relatively relaxed despite 1. FC Köln's last place in the Bundesliga. "I think it's very calm at the club despite the difficult phase. There have been completely different times here," said Baumgart on Thursday. After ten matchdays, his team is in last place with just five points ahead of Saturday's game (18:30/Sky) at direct rivals VfL Bochum (8 points).
In view of his previously successful work as Cologne coach, Baumgart still enjoys a lot of support at FC. There has been no question of the ex-professional resigning so far.
Despite the many recent setbacks, Baumgart is hoping that his players will persevere. "I have hope that the boys will keep at it," said the FC coach. "If you miss seven times, you just have to shoot an eighth time.
