Baskets Oldenburg still winless in the Champions League
The basketball team EWE Baskets Oldenburg has also lost its third game in the Champions League. The Bundesliga club lost 83:88 (41:47) at Belgian club BC Ostende on Wednesday and is bottom of Group E without a win. Only the team finishing top of the table advances directly to the second group stage. The second and third-placed teams still have to contest a qualifying round.
The Baskets, who were still without Geno Crandall, who signed on Monday, dominated the first quarter at will. The team of Spanish head coach Pedro Calles was clearly ahead by 24:11.
