The Basketball Lions from Braunschweig have made their initial signing for the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign. The team declared on Wednesday that 20-year-old youth national player Benjamin Schroeder will be joining them. Schroeder played for George Washington University in the US college league NCAA recently.

Lions' business manager Nils Mittmann remarked, "[Benny] is still only beginning his professional career and has just wrapped up two college years that weren't always a breeze." With the 2.04-meter player, the team aims to offer him more growth and development opportunities to tap into his potential. Mittmann also expressed confidence in Schroeder's bright future ahead, as the Lions finished the previous season in twelfth place.
