Fire department - Basement fire in apartment building: residents evacuated

The fire department in Schwerin has evacuated 15 residents due to a fire in the basement of an apartment building. The fire, which broke out on Friday night for as yet unexplained reasons, caused a lot of smoke, according to the police. A 63-year-old resident was taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries. According to initial estimates, property damage amounted to around 15,000 euros.
