In a barn blaze in the northeastern town of Witzenhausen, located within the Werra-Meißner district, substantial property damage occurred, presumably due to reckless arson. As per police statements, two 19-year-olds fumbled with a welding gadget, igniting the inferno.

Upon receiving numerous alerts, the barn was already engulfed in flames when the emergency responders arrived on a Saturday. The fire had the potential to threaten nearby residential buildings. "At the site, the flames scaled up to around 20 meters in height," the police declared.

Fortunately, the spread was halted, but the barn was utterly decimated. The authorities estimated the property loss to be somewhere between 50,000 to 70,000 Euros. No casualties were reported.

The emergency responders contacted the local Police Department for assistance due to the seriousness of the situation. The Police department launched an investigation to determine the cause of the barn fire, suspecting arson.
