- Barclays Arena will once again host Towers during the upcoming season.
Hamburg Towers eye a major crowd in the forthcoming Basketball Bundesliga season, targeting at least one large-scale event. Similar to the preceding season, they aspire to invite double champions FC Bayern Munich to the Barclays Arena on Easter Sunday 2025, aiming to break their previous record of 12,000 spectators.
Currently, head coach Benka Barloschky is all about the present, with ten new talents to incorporate into the team. "We've got performance objectives, and we've got procedure objectives - right now, the procedure objectives are what we're focusing on," he emphasized.
The team has already encountered its first trial in preparation. German national player Niklas Wimberg, acquired from FC Bayern Munich, sustained a fracture in his left leg during a test game against the Löwen Braunschweig and is expected to be sidelined for an extended duration. "Certainly, this is a test, given that he's clearly got ambitions to be a team leader. This is going to shift the dynamics in the coming weeks," Barloschky stated.
In spite of Wimberg's injury, sporting director Marvin Willoughby remains content with the new squad but conceded that he would've loved to retain a few more players. "We know who we are - we're a development club to some extent, a stepping stone for players moving up to the next level," he said. As they prepare for their first game against Alba Berlin, roughly 4.5 weeks down the line, Willoughby's aim is: "Our goal is to make it to the playoffs."
Men and boys in Hamburg are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Basketball Bundesliga season, with Hamburg Towers aiming to attract a large crowd. During the season, men and boys might have the opportunity to watch double champions FC Bayern Munich at the Barclays Arena.
