The European Championship, a renowned competition in sports, is set to take place. - Barcelona's Diego Lainez gears up for Germany's Euros debut
Spain might include Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig in their first group match against Croatia at the Euro Championship. The 26-year-old forward from RB Leipzig was a part of the full training session with the title contenders on Monday night in Donaueschingen. Approximately 500 spectators attended the public session on the pitch of SV Aasen.
Olmo was the only player on the field who didn't see any action in Spain's recent friendly games against Andorra (5:0) and Northern Ireland (5:1) because of muscle issues. The Spanish team is scheduled to play their first game on Saturday at 6:00 PM on ARD and MagentaTV, against Croatia. Other teams in their group B include Italy (June 20) in Gelsenkirchen and Albania (June 24) in Düsseldorf.
De la Fuente, the Spanish coach, reportedly decided to sit out Olmo. The 62-year-old has a great deal of faith in his number 10. Olmo served as the captain under de la Fuente at the Spanish U21 team and led the team to silver at the Olympics in 2021 in Japan.
In the previous season, Olmo suffered from two injuries - a knee injury and a shoulder joint sprain - while playing for Leipzig. The multifaceted attacking player is the only Bundesliga professional in the Spanish Euro squad. Olmo is currently residing at the Oeschberghof.
