Edibles - Bamberg talks about future plans for the slaughterhouse location.

In March, the city authorities came to a decision to shut down the ailing municipal slaughterhouse. The facility has recently concluded its operations. "During the city council meeting on July 24, we'll provide a thorough review of the current situation and decide on the exact timeline," remarked Mayor Starke.

The 5.5-hectare plot occupied by the slaughterhouse is located in a relatively inexpensive part of the city. Prior to the official closure, various plans were proposed for the site, such as launching research projects, creating residential areas, or transferring local institutions to the location. As per the municipality's plan, they will also assess whether the city or its affiliates require the land.
