- Ball press goes up in flames - € 150,000 in damage
A fire involving an agricultural machine near Giengen (Heidenheim district) close to the Bavarian border caused approximately 150,000 euros in damages. As reported by the police, the cause of the fire was a technical malfunction. The flames rapidly spread from the baling press and damaged about one hectare of a harvested field. The 26-year-old machine operator managed to safely evacuate himself in time and escaped unharmed.
The impact of the fire extended beyond the agricultural machine, as it also affected the nearby harvested field. The significance of the incident is underlined by the fact that agriculture is a vital sector, contributing significantly to the region's economy.
