Ball bomb thrown at meeting - three injured
A ball bomb was detonated next to a police car at a rally in Berlin-Neukölln on Saturday evening. A small child and two police officers were injured on Saturday evening, the police announced on X, formerly Twitter. When asked about the severity of the injuries and the age of the child, a spokeswoman was unable to provide any information. The Berlin fire department is taking care of the injured and the investigation is ongoing, the statement continued. When asked late on Saturday evening, a spokesperson for the Berlin police said that, as far as is known at present, there was no connection to a pro-Palestinian demonstration in the afternoon.
Despite the ongoing investigation, it's unclear if the ball bomb incident at the rally is linked to the pro-Palestinian demonstrations that took place earlier in the day. There have been reports of escalating tensions between protestors and authorities during some demonstrations, including instances of crime and property damage.
