- Bakery fire stops production

Bread production at a major bakery for Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg has been restricted due to a fire** in a Munich building. The fire broke out on Wednesday evening for unknown reasons, the fire department reported. Around eight hours were spent by the emergency services, mainly in the complex search for the source of the fire - a wooden beam on a ceiling.

Only a portion of the product range was available, the Hofpfisterei reported. On Friday, there should be bread again - but in a reduced selection. In Munich, it was reported that all branches in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are baked.

No one was injured in the fire. The police have not yet been able to estimate the damage. Arson investigators are now investigating. The affected ceiling structure had to be secured after an inspection by a structural engineer.

Due to the fire, some bakery workers might experience symptoms such as fatigue or possibly a temporary fever as they work to restore production. After the investigation into arson, it's recommended that the bakery thoroughly sanitizes the affected area to prevent any potential health concerns from the smoke.
