Accident at the train station - Bagtoo close to the track: Collision with Intercity Train

A Intercity train collided with a digger at a station. The locomotive driver had to apply an emergency brake on the previous Friday, as the Federal Police reported. A 28-year-old reportedly placed the digger so close to the rails of Bahnhof in Stuttgart-Vaihingen that the digging arm reached the tracks. The digger was at the station due to construction work.

Approximately 180 train passengers were transported to Stuttgart with S-Bahns, as the IC could no longer continue. However, no one was injured. The damage is estimated to be in the lower six-figure range, according to a Federal Police spokesperson. An investigation will now be conducted against the digger driver.

The collision at the train station in Stuttgart-Vaihingen was caused by criminality, with a digger driver placing the machine dangerously close to the railway tracks. This accident disrupted the usual railway traffic in Baden-Württemberg. The incident involving the Locomotive driver and the digger resulted in significant damage to the train, which required further investigation. The Federal Police will be actively involved in this case, as they will be conducting an investigation into the digger driver's actions.
