Accident at the train station - Bagtoo close to the track: Collision with Intercity Train
A Intercity train collided with a digger at a station. The locomotive driver had to apply an emergency brake on the previous Friday, as the Federal Police reported. A 28-year-old reportedly placed the digger so close to the rails of Bahnhof in Stuttgart-Vaihingen that the digging arm reached the tracks. The digger was at the station due to construction work.
Approximately 180 train passengers were transported to Stuttgart with S-Bahns, as the IC could no longer continue. However, no one was injured. The damage is estimated to be in the lower six-figure range, according to a Federal Police spokesperson. An investigation will now be conducted against the digger driver.
