weather - Baden-Württemberg experiences another small heatwave
Clear skies, sunny and dry - Baden-Württemberg is expected to have several summerlike days according to meteorologists' assessment. The German Weather Service (DWD) anticipates a small heatwave, which should raise temperatures up to 35 degrees by mid-week. First rain showers and occasional thunderstorms could bring some cooling.
Already on Monday, there were hardly any clouds left in the sky, and it was expected to remain dry with temperatures reaching up to 31 degrees. The DWD forecasted only a weak wind. This wind pattern continued for Tuesday and Wednesday. "Tuesday and Wednesday are the peaks of a small heatwave," predicted the DWD expert. It will be hot with temperatures up to 35 degrees on these days. However, after the cloudless Tuesday, cloud cover could move over the country by the following day.
Return of showers and thunderstorms
Clouds are expected to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms back to Baden-Württemberg on Wednesday. Where it thunders, there will also be gusty winds, as stated. Possible thunderstorms could continue spreading on Thursday. According to the DWD, showers and thunderstorms will be established across the entire federal state by then. The air will "feel quite humid," said the meteorologist.
The temperatures dropped significantly. The 30-degree mark will not be broken again. The good news: The air is predicted to be "more pleasant" towards the weekend and not as oppressive, and showers and thunderstorms could move towards the Alps in time for Saturday.
Despite the heat wave predicted by DWD, the sunny and dry weather in Stuttgart and Baden-Württemberg reached temperatures of up to 31 degrees on Monday. However, as the heat wave peak approached on Tuesday and Wednesday, the sun's intensity was matched by rising temperatures that could reach a scorching 35 degrees, as per the DWD's forecast.
