Back problems: Wolfsburg captain Arnold missing
Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg will be without their captain Maximilian Arnold for Saturday's away game at VfL Bochum. "Max has slight neck and back problems. We couldn't plan with him in training today and won't be able to tomorrow either," said coach Niko Kovac on Friday.
The 29-year-old Arnold has been a particular focus of attention at Wolfsburg since the start of the season. For the first time in years, the club's Bundesliga record player lost his status as an undisputed regular. Under coach Kovac, he has moved back and forth between the substitutes' bench and the starting eleven in the past three games. On Saturday (3.30pm/Sky), the midfielder will now be absent due to physical reasons.
Despite Maximilian Arnold's absence due to neck and back issues, VfL Wolfsburg remains focused on their Bundesliga clash against VfL Bochum. Regardless of Arnold's role as captain and the team's record player, VfL Wolfsburg's midfield will need to adapt effectively in the Bundesliga match.
