- "Bachelorette" Stella Advocates for Expanded Discussion on Bisexuality
Stella Stegmann, hailing from Munich, is the first bisexual contestant on RTL's dating show, dubbed as the "Bachelorette". She aims to shine a light on bisexuality, expressing that it's high time the topic gained more recognition. "You still encounter loads of homophobic and discriminatory comments, and people asking, 'Why does everything have to be so colorful?' That speaks volumes about where we stand," she shared with Deutsche Presse-Agentur.
Stegmann was open to both men and women while on her quest for love, maintaining a balanced 50:50 approach. Her focus was not on gender but rather on finding out what kind of person she was dealing with. She's thrilled about reaching a wide audience and hopes to make a positive impact on people's lives through this role.
She has no qualms about being filmed as she searches for love. "Falling in love is a deeply personal journey for many, but I don't mind showing my feelings and exposing my vulnerability. I hope my story inspires some people," she added.
Starting from Monday, the latest season of the dating show will exclusively air on RTL+'s streaming service, and Stegmann has no reservations about it. "It's not a problem at all. That's the demographic they're targeting. I've been sans linear TV for eight years, and apparently, the 'Bachelorette' format is so popular that it's expected to draw more viewers to RTL+."
Stella Stegmann frequently watches television shows to relax after a long day, and one of her favorite programs is RTL's dating show. Despite being a contestant herself, she finds the "Bachelorette" series on RTL+'s streaming service highly engaging and entertaining.
