A baby carriage has been set on fire in a stairwell in Halle and pushed into the elevator. Initial estimates put the total damage at 70,000 euros, the police announced on Saturday. No one was injured in the incident on Friday evening.

The elevator car in the stairwell of the ten-storey apartment building was reportedly fully engulfed in flames. The fire department was able to prevent the fire from spreading. The elevator showed considerable damage and had to be taken out of service. After ventilation of the building, it is still habitable. The police are investigating serious arson.
