An unknown person has stolen a prize-winning breeding rabbit and put another rabbit in the cage instead. The background to the unusual theft in the market town of Schopfloch (Ansbach district) near the Baden-Württemberg border was initially unclear, as the police reported on Wednesday.

Animals - Award-winning breeding hare stolen

An unknown person has stolen a prize-winning breeding rabbit and put another rabbit in the cage instead. The background to the unusual theft in the market town of Schopfloch (Ansbach district) near the Baden-Württemberg border was initially unclear, as the police announced on Wednesday.

The animal is said to have been stolen from the cellar of the house at the beginning of November. The breeder soon noticed the swap, but only contacted the police about a month later. According to the police, a hoax cannot be ruled out. The prize-winning animal was said to be worth around 80 euros.
