Hertha-Professional Fabian Reese and Union trainer Ailien Poese can both look forward to a special accolade. With 63.6 percent of the votes, Berliners chose Reese as the "Berliner Professional Footballer of the Season". Poese received the award with 26.2 percent of the votes in the category "Berliner Trainer:in of the Season".
Behind Reese on the podium were Frederik Rönnow (14.9 percent) and Christopher Trimmel (6.1 percent) of 1. FC Union Berlin. "It's a great honor to know that Hertha fans and people in the capital see me in first place here," said Reese in a statement from the Berlin Football Association.
