Viral disease - Avian influenza in Brandenburg: measures in the district of Stendal
After a case of avian influenza became known in Brandenburg, the neighboring district of Stendal has also taken measures. On Friday, the district published a corresponding general decree for protection against avian influenza. This applies to several localities on the state border with Brandenburg around the village of Damerow. Among other things, poultry must be kept indoors.
Avian influenza is a viral disease that is highly contagious for domestic poultry. Some variants of avian influenza viruses can also be transmitted to other animals and humans in individual cases. A case of avian influenza occurred on a farm with 11,500 animals in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin.
