Body found - Autopsy planned after body found in East Hesse

After discovering a partly skeletal corpse in Osthessen, investigators have yet to gain any insights into the identity or circumstances of the death. The autopsy is scheduled for coming Tuesday (2nd July), according to a spokesperson for the Fulda Prosecutor's Office on Friday. The results are expected by Wednesday at the latest. A witness reported the discovery of the body on a field on Tuesday and alerted the police. The Criminal Police are investigating.

Message from investigators

The corpse was found in Hersfeld-Rotenburg, a town located in East Hesse. The medical examiner will conduct the autopsy in Hesse's Fulda region on the 2nd of July. Despite the body discovery on a field in Osthessen, neither the person's identity nor the reasons behind their emergency situation have been discovered yet.
