In the foreseeable future, there might be an increased utilization of robots in the agricultural fields of Lower Saxony.

- Automated machinery set to enhance farming productivity

The SPD and Greens aim to facilitate the usage of robots in farming fields by residents of Lower Saxony. They are presenting a proposal to this effect in the state parliament today.

The proposal includes advocating for widespread coverage of the 5G mobile communication standard. This is crucial, particularly for drones that precede mowing machines, alerting to wild animals and obstacles. Every fraction of a second in data transmission is vital in such situations.

Additionally, the state government should clarify the legal aspects of using agricultural robots on public roads at the national level. The Greens and SPD also suggest increasing the approval-free heights for mobile phone towers and standardizing approval documents. In their view, this would encourage the widespread adoption of agricultural robots. They believe these machines have the potential to enhance efficiency, optimizing agricultural work in terms of time and technology, while saving fuel and plant protection products.

The SPD and Greens are introducing their proposal in the Landtag (state parliament), advocating for the use of agricultural robots with 5G technology in Lower Saxony's farming fields. To further facilitate this, they propose clarifying the legal aspects of using such robots on public roads at the national level.
