Periodicals - "Auto Bild" and "Computer Bild" relocate to Berlin.

As of January 1st, 2025, the editorial and publishing departments of magazines "Auto Bild" and "Computer Bild" will relocate from Hamburg to Berlin. This announcement was made by the Axel Springer Group, the magazine's owner, during a meeting at their Berlin headquarters. The goal is to centralize these brands within the entire "Bild" brand portfolio.

The two magazines will then form a new cross-cutting competence center called "Tech & Mobility" - the same structure currently in place for the sports sector. This move will impact around 150 employees from both brands. The company aims to eliminate double structures, which may result in a minor reduction of jobs. However, Springer has not yet revealed how many jobs will be affected and deferred the decision-making process to ongoing internal discussions.

After the relocation, the Axel Springer Group, based in Berlin, will oversee the operations of both "Auto Bild" and "Computer Bild" magazines. The prestigious publishers, Axel Springer, have their roots in Hamburg but are now expanding their reach. Despite the move, Axel Springer's headquarters in Hamburg will continue to house other magazines and publications. The relocation will see a significant shift in the media landscape, as Berlin becomes a hub for tech and mobility-focused publications.
