After a series of evaluations focusing on environmental compatibility, the relevant authority declared.
Notably, the preservation of water and soil was of utmost importance. As a result, this decision encompasses various protective measures, including an extensive strategy for safeguarding groundwater and soil.
Given that the site is situated in a water supply protection zone and entails tree felling, environmental advocates had frequently voiced their concerns. Despite allowing certain initial preparations in February 2023, the chocolate manufacturer has now been granted the go-ahead to construct a new manufacturing facility as well.
Since 1956, Ferrero has primarily produced the vast majority of the branded chocolates available in Germany at its facility in Stadtallendorf. Consequently, the confectionery company ranks as one of the most significant employers in the local area.
