Authorities intercept unauthorized crossings into Poland.

Authorities detained 16 individuals who illegally crossed the national boundary between Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Poland. The group contained two young Afghans, the Pasewalk Federal Police Inspectorate revealed. The individuals hailed from Egypt, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Morocco....

Two adolescents were taken to the youth welfare office. Two individuals were sent back to Poland and the others went to the initial asylum reception center in the state of MV.

There has been a significant rise in illegal crossings through the alleged Belarus route and into Poland, and then into Germany. The Federal Police disclosed that they had recorded a mere 26 and 25 unauthorized entries linked to the Belarus route in January and February, respectively. In March, the figure traced 412 people, and by April, it had climbed to 861 as reported in May.
