Police are currently probing vandalism involving a beaver in the area of Schwabmünten, Augsburg district. Last week, authorities claimed a suspicious individual had chopped down two young fruit trees here. The girth of the tree trunks was small, initially leading to doubt on whether a beaver had gnawed on them. Nonetheless, upon closer study of the desecrated fruit trees, the police announced on Friday that it was, without a doubt, a beaver who was responsible.
