Author Ronen Steinke reads on the subject of anti-Semitism
Journalist and author Ronen Steinke will be visiting five cities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in November on a reading tour on the subject of anti-Semitism. The 40-year-old will be reading from his books "Terror gegen Juden. How anti-Semitic violence is growing and the state is failing. An indictment" and "Anti-Semitism in language. Why the choice of words matters" and talk about his life as a Jew in Germany. This was announced by the Ministry of Culture in Schwerin.
The event will begin with a reading in Greifswald on November 21. Steinke will then visit Güstrow, Neustrelitz and Neubrandenburg, concluding with a reading on November 23 at the Schleswig-Holstein-Haus in Schwerin. The reading tour is part of the educational series "Confronting anti-Semitism", according to the Ministry of Culture.
During his reading tour, Ronen Steinke may discuss how literature and religion have contributed to or challenged conflicts related to anti-Semitism. Through his writings, Steinke explores how the language of religion and literature can either fuel or mitigate religious and literary conflicts that intersect with anti-Semitic sentiments.
