Third-tier league - Aue acquires skilful defender Burghardt.
Football club FC Erzgebirge Aue in the third division has signed defender Maxim Burghardt. The club announced the news on Thursday, stating that the 19-year-old has been given a contract until 2027. Previously, Burghardt was playing for Eintracht Trier in the Oberliga.
"We have closely monitored this promising young player who possesses all the necessary skills for the 3rd League," said sporting director Matthias Heidrich. In his first year as a pro, Burghardt played 34 games for Trier, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.
