Road congestion - Audit Office faults numerous roads' states
Several roads and ole bridges in Lower Saxony are reportedly in less than ideal shape, as per a recent analysis by the State Audit Office. This situation is forecast to worsen in the near future, as mentioned in their latest annual report that came out on a Wednesday.
"The government has failed to upkeep its infrastructure properly and now needs to put a higher emphasis on it," expressed Sandra von Kladen, President of the State Audit Office. She also advocated for an extensive upgrading plan for universities across Lower Saxony.
The State Audit Office defines itself as independent from the executive, judiciary, and legislature. Their sole objective is to carry out external fiscal supervision, with no political obligations. They keenly focus on scrutinizing the economic validity and organization of the state's budget and financial administration.
