- Attending Gamescom by 335,000 individuals leaves organizers contented with the event's turnout.
At this year's Gamescom, the globe's biggest computer game trade fair, attendance has witnessed a boost. The event concluded on Sunday following a five-day run, with a grand total of 335,000 attendees, as reported by Koelnmesse. This number is a slight increase from last year's count of 320,000, yet still falls short of the whopping 373,000 visitors seen in the record year of 2019. Despite the massive crowd in 2019, organizers decided not to aim for that record level in 2023.
In terms of digital reach, Gamescom smashed its previous record this year, amassing an impressive 310 million views from worldwide audiences, up from the 180 million views in 2023. According to Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse, "Gamescom has yet again solidified its global influence as the universe's most influential and significant event within the gaming industry."
The Cologne fair collaborates with the Game industry association for its organization. The 2023 edition of Gamescom boasted 1,462 exhibitors hailing from 64 countries. They showcased the latest computer and video games, along with other products and services, and marketed their respective locations. A staggering 71% of these exhibitors represented foreign territories.
Visitors at the event expressed their excitement about the newest releases in computer games. The high demand for computer games led to long queues at some of the exhibitor booths.
