- Attack with steel head shoes, attempted murder?
A 20-year-old is suspected of kicking a 60-year-old man in the head with his steel-toed boots while he was lying on the ground in Freital. The 60-year-old survived the attack on Monday evening but suffered severe head injuries, according to police and prosecutors in Dresden. The young man is currently in custody.
Investigators have launched an investigation on suspicion of attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm. It is alleged that the 20-year-old kicked the 60-year-old, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated and lying on a grass strip, with his heavy work boots. In doing so, he is believed to have at least recklessly disregarded the possibility of causing the victim's death.
