Stade - ATM blown up: Tens of thousands of euros lying on the street
Unknown perpetrators have blown up an ATM at a bank branch in Harsefeld in the district of Stade. When the emergency services arrived on Saturday night, tens of thousands of euros worth of cash was lying in the street in front of the branch and on the adjacent properties, as the police reported on Saturday. The explosion also destroyed another cash machine. A small fire broke out in the branch, which was extinguished by the fire department.
Residents had heard a loud bang and called the emergency services. Despite an intensive manhunt, which also involved a police helicopter, there is still no trace of the perpetrators. It was not yet clear whether or how much money the perpetrators were able to steal. The police estimate the property damage at around 100,000 euros. Explosives experts are now investigating the crime scene.
