Wernigerode - ATM blown up - no cash boxes stolen
Unknown persons have blown up an ATM in Wernigerode (Harz district). However, the perpetrators did not manage to steal the cash cassettes from the machine early on Sunday morning, as the police reported on Tuesday. They then fled in an unknown direction. The ATM was badly damaged during the explosion. The amount of property damage is estimated to be in the mid five-figure range. No people were injured during the crime.
The police reportedly secured a large number of traces at the scene of the crime. An investigation has been opened into the causing of an explosive detonation. The police are looking for witnesses.
