The documentary, originally titled "Wisdom of Happiness," follows the journey of the 89-year-old Dalai Lama and includes never-before-seen footage from the Tibetan government's archives. Born in 1940, the Dalai Lama was named as Tibet's spiritual leader at the tender age of four. In the film, he promotes empathy in human relationships, as per the festival. The occasion will unfold from October 3 to 20.
Gere, a practicing Buddhist, has been an ardent supporter of Tibet for years and views the Dalai Lama as his mentor and confidant.
