Police investigate - At least nine fires set in and around Munich underground car park

At least nine fires have been reported in and around a deep garage in the Munich district of Schwanthalerhohe over the past few months. It is not yet certain at this time if all the crimes can be attributed to the same suspects, a police spokesperson stated. The total damage amounts to a Euro figure in the five-digit range.

The first fires were reportedly reported as early as March. In addition to two dumpsters and some tarpaulins, a motorcycle has also burned since then. A woman prevented a major fire on Sunday after discovering flames under her car in the deep garage. The police are investigating arson.

In one of the cases, the officers were searching for two suspects in their teenage years, who, according to a witness, were wearing black hoodies at the time of the incident.

  1. The fires in Munich's Schwanthalerhohe district, including one in an underground car park, have resulted in significant damage in Upper Bavaria, as reported by the police.
  2. Despite the ongoing investigations, it remains unclear if the incidents of arson in Bavaria's deep garages, such as the one in Munich, are all linked to the same culprits.
  3. A potential threat persists in the area, as the police continue to watch out for the two teenage suspects, last seen in black hoodies, involved in one of the car-related fires in the city.
  4. To prevent any further accidents or potential crimes, authorities are urging vehicle owners in Munich to be more vigilant, especially when parking in underground garages, and to report any unusual activities to the local police.
