The German Military - At Laage airbase, numerous flights cause limited complaints.

The amount of grumbles over noise disruptions due to Luftwaffenstützpunkt Laage's (Rostock district) military flights has dropped recently, as per Oberstleutnant Oliver Horz, Air Force Intelligence and Operation Head, during the Noise Protection Commission's official gathering in Laage on Tuesday. Last year, 61 complaints came in, whereas in 2022, it was 76. Despite the national tally standing at 6,960 cases, Horz made sure to mention, "Each case is logged.".

Future plans for the Luftwaffenstützpunkt Laage involve increasing pilot training substantially within the following years. From the average 16 pilots graduating annually in the past, they expect 19 in the upcoming year, 26 in 2026, and even 28 to 30 pilots from 2027 onwards. This was outlined by Oberst Gerd Schnell, the commander for the Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 73 "Steinhoff".

The recorded number of flights in Laage during the year prior was 3,364, while approximately 2,500 belong to the Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 71 "Richthofen", which has been temporarily based there, but may be transferred to Wittmund in 2025.

Schnell added that an upsurge in training and flight activity isn't always a necessity. In fact, there are currently four simulators available for use - a significant upgrade from the two in the past. Two-thirds of their training now takes place in these, as it helps them stay airborne with minimal disturbance.

Dedication to reducing noise disruptions remains a top priority. Their efforts encompass banning supersonic flights over Rostock, restricting night flights between 1st April and 30th September, and respecting funeral processes.
