Associations address demands to potential coalition partners
At the start of the coalition talks in Hesse this week, numerous associations have made demands of the planned future government alliance between the CDU and SPD. The President of the Federation of Hessian Business Associations, Wolf Mang, stated that he hoped for a "business-friendly coalition agreement for more growth".
There could only be more growth if Hesse became more attractive for private investment again. "The coalition can contribute to this by eliminating unnecessary regulations, improving public infrastructure, modernizing educational institutions and digitizing public authorities," explained Mang.
In education policy, the focus must be on basic skills. "At the end of elementary school, everyone must be able to read, write and do arithmetic," added the association president.
The state association of the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (Nabu) complained that nature and species conservation were not mentioned in the CDU and SPD's key issues paper. "A significant improvement is needed here in the coalition negotiations, because nature conservation is an elementary provision for the future," demanded state chairman Maik Sommerhage.
The Government, in their coalition negotiations with the SPD, should consider the requests from various business associations, such as the Federation of Hessian Business Associations, who emphasize the need for a business-friendly coalition agreement to promote growth. Additionally, associations like Nabu have highlighted the importance of addressing nature and species conservation in the coalition agreement, as it is a fundamental provision for the future.
