The Council of Ministers - Assistance for fruit and wine producers is endorsed due to frost damage

A sum of 22 million euros is allocated this year to counter frost damage. The Winegrowers' Association initially calculated the damages to be around 34 million euros. However, Günther speculates that numerous businesses possess insurance. This funding for frost damage derives from his ministry's budget, primarily the climate fund. He presumes that outlays have been delayed. Companies can appeal to the Saxon Development Bank for help if they've lost more than 30% of their typical yearly output. The Economy Ministry has been solicited to explore options for partial unemployment benefits for employees.

Günther stated, "The April end frosts have instigated considerable and existential harm to fruit and wine cultivation." The package has been strengthened to aid impacted enterprises. "This incorporates direct support, yet also probable tax reductions and statutes for partial unemployment. This is a critical message for the trade. As fruit and wine growing are integral to Saxony, we require these firms for thriving countryside regions and augmented regional wealth creation."
