Julian Schuster was buzzing following his victorious first stint as Bundesliga boss with SC Freiburg. "We're naturally thrilled about this triumph," the jubilant new coach declared after the well-deserved 3:1 (1:1) victory over VfB Stuttgart in the regional rivalry.

Schuster replaced long-time Freiburg coach Christian Streich in the summer. A week after the 4:0 triumph in the DFB Cup initial round against VfL Osnabrück, Freiburg continued their impressive league form.

"Naturally, it boosts our confidence that we're being backed up in the values we've been instilling in the team over seven weeks," the 39-year-old mentioneed. The victory in the regional derby also lifts his team's spirits, Schuster added.

Lukas Kübler netted a brace in the 27th and 61st minutes, while Ritsu Doan (54th) found the back of the net for Freiburg after Stuttgart had opened the scoring through Ermedin Demirovic (2nd). In the upcoming week, Freiburg will be visiting FC Bayern Munich.
