Assault on Law Enforcement with Stones and Fireworks

Demonstrators ignited blazes on Rigaer Street and assailed law enforcement with fireworks. Three law enforcement agents endured injuries. The authorities' security department is conducting an investigation.

- Assault on Law Enforcement with Stones and Fireworks

Unknown assailants assaulted and harmed law enforcement officials in Rigaer Street, located in Berlin-Friedrichshain, utilizing fireworks and rocks. Initially, the police aided the fire department as trash had been ignited, as per their report. This is when they were attacked with fireworks by three unidentified individuals. The suspected culprits then made their escape into a residential building, launching additional fireworks and stones from its rooftop towards the police.

One officer is said to have been struck on the shoulder by a pyrotechnic device, resulting in a concussion. Another officer was injured on the head, after being hit by a thrown stone that impacted his helmet. These officers, remarkably, continued their duty post.

A female officer was transported to the hospital due to inhalation of smoke, a condition she sustained while battling the blaze. The perpetrators disappeared, and the security services are currently inquiring into the matter. Rigaer Street has seen numerous instances of left-wing extremism in recent years.

The police launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the individuals who attacked them with fireworks and rocks. Despite being assaulted, the police officers remained committed to maintaining order in Rigaer Street.
