The 23rd New Year's auction in Wieck on January 1, 2024 will focus on paintings by artists from the artist towns of Ahrenshoop, Hiddensee and Schwaan. A total of 140 paintings will be on offer, according to auctioneer Christopher Walther. Among others, paintings by the co-founder of the Ahrenshoop artists' colony Paul Müller-Kaempff and by Carl Malchin, who was one of the first painters on the Darß, will be offered on New Year's Day from 3 pm.

Works by the Stralsund painter Elisabeth Büchsel and the Barth painter Louis Douzette, the 100th anniversary of whose death will be celebrated in 2024, will also be up for auction. The paintings can be viewed from December 27 to 31 from 11 am to 3 pm in the Darßer Arche in Wieck.

Two days earlier is the 7th Ahrenshoop Winter Auction, which starts on December 30 from 6 pm in the Strandhalle Ahrenshoop.
